Once you have successfully achieved the Later Life Adviser Accreditation, you are invited to apply for full membership. As a full member, your services will be promoted through the “Find an Adviser” directory on the SOLLA website, and through other promotional activities and trusted third parties we work with. You will also be able to use the SOLLA logo in your marketing.

Full membership benefits

The benefits of being a full member of the Society include:

  • Clients can be assured of your knowledge of their needs and issues they face in later life matters
  • Your details will be available to consumers via the SOLLA website, and through our trusted partners
  • Use of the SOLLA logo for your marketing purposes
  • Receive regular newsletters, communications, information, press releases and updates about the Later Life Market, including industry and legislative updates, social care, health and welfare issues etc
  • Access to specific training courses on older client matters, at preferential membership rates
  • Access to your local regional SOLLA network and the LinkedIn discussion forum, giving technical information and support from peer group
  • Access to the members area of the SOLLA website, giving additional information about SOLLA, your membership,and other useful documents and information

How do I become a full member?

To become a full SOLLA member you must:

  • Achieve the Later Life Adviser Accreditation
  • Agree to abide by SOLLA Code of Practice, which was established so that clients and their families are clear about what they can expect of their Later Life Adviser and the service that will be provided
  • Provide a copy of your firm’s older client care procedure, ensuring that they are aligned with the SOLLA Code of Practice

Ongoing costs

The SOLLA Membership and Annual Re-license Fee is £21 per month, payable by Direct Debit. This covers the cost of your SOLLA membership, and relicensing your status as an accredited Later Life Adviser each year.

The Later Life Adviser Accreditation candidate fee is £900. This is payable at the point of booking your assessment date. If you are a current Associate Member this fee is reduced by £250.

Associate membership

If you wish to be a SOLLA full member, and are considering applying for the LLAA, we highly recommend that you consider becoming an Associate Member. By becoming an Associate Member, you are committing to becoming an Accredited Later Life Adviser, and ultimately a full member of the Society. You will enjoy all the benefits of full membership, except that your details will not appear in the SOLLA adviser directory until you have achieved the Later Life Adviser Accreditation and have been accepted as a full member.
